Hey guys!!] Ok, as you guys know I am a comic book fan and I am very skeptical when I hear that Hollywood is gonna make a comic book into a movie. I am always hoping that when the movie studios get a hold of the comic book as a movie property, that they don't screw it up. Well I went and saw the WATCHMEN. Here are my thoughts...........
I read the novel and thought that it was really great. It changed a lot of things about the way that comics are perceived (they are not just for kids). Comics had not been written with such depth before. I really loved it. (I have loved others since like DARK KNIGHT RETURNS by Frank Miller and KINGDOM COME by Alex Ross) So about a year ago we all heard that they were gonna make the WATCHMEN movie; officially. My first thought was, "How are they gonna do this??" It is too long!! and it is too long of a story to fit into a movie. Well I saw it and I loved it!! The director Zack Snyder did what he was supposed to do. What I love about him is that he kinda volunteered to do the movie because he did not want anyone to screw it up!! When you see it, you have to remember that It is a little different than the novel but ... the big screen is a different medium than paper. Paper can tell a story one way and the big screen can do it another. I truly believe that it could be done any better than Zack did it!!
